Vinpearl, owned by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, plans to develop a new golf complex in Nha Trang with an estimated investment of nearly VND 4,000 billion (approx. USD 158 million), aiming to serve up to 2,000 guests per day.
Currently, the Vinpearl Nha Trang Hon Tre Tourism Area operates an existing 18-hole golf course – Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang. The company is now undergoing the environmental impact assessment process for the proposed “Vinpearl Hon Tre Golf Complex”, with an investment of VND 3,942 billion.
According to the report, the project is located on Hon Tre Island, within the Nha Trang Bay National Scenic Area, Khanh Hoa Province. The project has received approval from the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee to adjust its investment policy and recognize Vinpearl as the investor, under Decision No. 784/QD-UBND dated March 25, 2025.
The planned complex will span 171.39 hectares and is designed to accommodate approximately 1,989 guests per day.
Key components of the project include:
Project Timeline: Vinpearl plans to complete the land leveling work by June 2026 and finish technical infrastructure construction by December 2026. The remaining components will be completed and operational by December 2027. During the construction phase, about 200 workers will be required, according to Vinpearl’s report.
Vinpearl noted that Khanh Hoa’s tourism industry is experiencing robust growth, with increasing numbers of domestic and international visitors, as well as longer guest stays. With strong provincial support for investment and a tourism development strategy focusing on island and coastal tourism, Hon Tre Island has become a prime investment location in Nha Trang.
According to Vinpearl’s report, Hon Tre is the largest island in Nha Trang Bay, covering over 3,000 hectares and located about 5 km east of central Nha Trang City. The island enjoys a relatively secluded position, boasts one of Vietnam’s most beautiful natural beaches, pristine vegetation, a mild climate, and limited storms—all favorable conditions for developing eco-tourism, high-end resorts, and luxury accommodations.
Additionally, Hon Tre Island is not on the list of areas requiring coastal protection corridors in Khanh Hoa Province. As mentioned, the currently operating Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang course spans 182 hectares, with a length of 6,787 yards, and was designed by IMG Worldwide. It is the first golf course developed by Vinpearl.

Vinpearl also owns a golf course in Australia.
