The 2027 championship will mark the 18th edition of the tournament and the first time Vietnam has been selected to host this prestigious amateur golf event. Hoiana Shores’ selection as the official venue for AAC 2027 represents a proud milestone for Vietnam’s golf industry. At the same time, the event further highlights the growing appeal of Central Vietnam, which is steadily emerging as one of Asia’s prominent golf destinations.
With its internationally recognized golf course design, spectacular natural scenery, and experience in hosting major tournaments, Hoiana Shores promises to provide an exciting stage for the region’s most talented amateur golfers.
The Distinctive Character of a World-Class Links Golf Course in Central Vietnam
Located along the coastline of Central Vietnam, near the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An Ancient Town, Hoiana Shores Golf Club stands out as a golf destination where modern design meets the untouched beauty of nature. Officially opened in 2020, the 18-hole, par-71 golf course, designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., has quickly established its distinctive identity among both domestic and international golfers.
Hoiana Shore Golf Course
Unlike traditional golf courses, Hoiana Shores offers a captivating links golf experience, where the natural coastal dunes have been thoughtfully incorporated into a layout rich in strategic challenges. Each hole presents its own unique characteristics, encouraging players to demonstrate their skills, creativity, and adaptability to changing coastal winds. These elements make every round at Hoiana Shores a distinctive experience while creating an ideal competitive environment for international golf tournaments.
Beyond the quality of its golf course, Hoiana Shores offers an experience deeply connected to the cultural charm and distinctive resort lifestyle of Central Vietnam. By combining international design standards, stunning coastal landscapes, and unique experiences, Hoiana Shores continues to strengthen its appeal not only as a destination for golf enthusiasts but also as a world-class venue for prestigious regional golf events.
From International Achievements to the Milestone of AAC 2027
This is not the first time the coastal golf course in Central Vietnam has played host to a major international sporting event. In 2025, Hoiana Shores hosted the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship, bringing together promising female amateur golf talents from numerous countries and territories.
The 2025 championship provided Hoiana Shores with an opportunity to showcase the distinctive characteristics of its links golf course while demonstrating its ability to meet the professional and operational requirements of an international championship. Building on this foundation, AAC 2027 is expected to further elevate Hoiana Shores’ profile, bringing the golf course closer to the global golfing community and industry professionals.
In addition to its tournament achievements, Hoiana Shores has earned notable international recognition, including the World’s Best New Golf Course 2020 award presented by the World Golf Awards. The combination of international accolades and successive opportunities to host prestigious golf events continues to strengthen Hoiana Shores’ reputation while highlighting Vietnam’s potential as a destination for major golf tournaments in Asia.
Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship 2027 – A Stage for Future Golf Stars
Established in 2009, the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) is regarded as one of the most important tournaments in the development journey of outstanding amateur golfers across the Asia-Pacific region. Beyond providing a highly competitive environment, the championship offers young talents an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, gain valuable experience, and move closer to the world’s professional golf stage.
One of the AAC’s most compelling attractions lies in the opportunities awarded to its champion. The winner will have the opportunity to compete in two prestigious major championships, the Masters Tournament and The Open Championship, the following year, potentially marking a significant turning point in their golfing career.
