Philippines

The Philippines is currently home to approximately 71 active golf courses, distributed across urban centers such as Metro Manila and premier resort destinations including Cebu, Boracay, and Clark. As an archipelagic nation, the country offers a diverse golfing experience, ranging from coastal courses with sweeping ocean vistas to layouts embedded within majestic highlands and tropical landscapes.

Given the tropical climate, selecting the right timing for a golf trip is essential. Across many regions, the period from December to May is generally drier, with January to April offering particularly favorable conditions. From June to November, increased rainfall and potential typhoon risks can impact playing schedules, especially in Luzon and coastal areas. Due to varying weather patterns across different islands, golfers are advised to check localized forecasts prior to booking their tee times.

Philippine culture reflects a vibrant fusion of indigenous traditions, Spanish heritage, and American influences. Manila stands out with its historic Intramuros district and colonial architecture; Cebu is deeply tied to missionary history and traditional festivals; while numerous islands offer rich opportunities to explore fishing villages, traditional handicrafts, and local community life. Celebrations such as the Sinulog Festival in Cebu and Ati Atihan in Kalibo vividly display the country’s strong community spirit and festive identity.

Local cuisine forms another distinct highlight, featuring iconic dishes like adobo, sinigang, and lechon, which showcase a blend of diverse cultural influences. Furthermore, warm hospitality and widespread English proficiency make travel and service interactions exceptionally seamless for international visitors. With 71 golf courses, stunning island landscapes, and rich cultural heritage, the Philippines is ideally suited for itineraries that combine golf, beach relaxation, and historic exploration. Golfers can easily pair rounds in Metro Manila or Clark with a coastal getaway in Cebu while experiencing the unique flavors and cultural richness of each region.
