Laguna Golf Lăng Cô was designed by Sir Nick Faldo, a six-time Major champion, and officially opened in 2016. Located within the Laguna Lăng Cô integrated resort in Hue City, the course features 18 championship holes, par 71, with a length of approximately 6,961 yards. Its design combines dramatic coastal scenery with diverse natural terrain, making it a distinctive golf destination in Central Vietnam. In 2026, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô received two awards at the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards: Best Coastal Golf Course and Top 10 Best Golf Courses in Vietnam.
The terrain at Laguna Golf Lăng Cô transitions through a variety of natural environments, from rice paddies and tropical woodland to natural streams, sand dunes and exposed rock formations. Rather than following a conventional parkland layout, the course incorporates these features into a strategic design inspired by links-style golf. Golfers must carefully assess landing areas, select appropriate clubs and adapt their shots to the changing terrain. The combination of playing corridors, natural hazards and varying elevations makes course management just as important as power and accuracy. Meanwhile, coastal winds and the mountainous backdrop create a distinctive atmosphere throughout the round.
Several standout holes demonstrate the course’s combination of scenery and strategic challenges. The par-3 fifth hole is particularly memorable, featuring an elevated tee shot towards a green framed by striking rock formations and surrounded by majestic mountain scenery. Meanwhile, the par-4 ninth offers a different experience as it runs alongside the beach, bringing golfers close to the beautiful coastline. Together, these holes capture the course’s distinctive character: a layout that transitions between inland landscapes and the ocean, requiring players to continually adapt their strategy to the terrain. With its varied landscape, strategic design and spectacular setting between the mountains and the East Sea, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô offers a memorable experience for golfers seeking a combination of natural beauty and strategic challenges.
