Summary
The Golf Operations Manager is responsible for the daily organization, leadership, and planning of all Golf Operations activities, ensuring the consistent delivery of an award-winning experience for guests, members, and tournament participants. This role combines operational excellence, hospitality finesse, along with member and guest engagement to strengthen Pineapple Valley Golf Club’s reputation as a leading golf club and destination in Thailand.
The position also ensures that all operations align with the club’s financial objectives, service standards, and strategic direction as defined by the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Oversee all areas of golf operations, including tee sheet management, caddie services, starter and marshal teams, course set up and pace of play management.
Implement and maintain Standard Operating Policies (SOPs) approved by the General Manager.
Liaise daily with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding course setup, green speed, and playability to ensure an enjoyable golf experience.
Ensure the driving range and practice facilities are always clean, functional, and presentable.
Maintain world-class presentation standards of all facilities and equipment.
Ensure compliance with club rules, R&A golf regulations.
Serve as a visible and engaging ambassador of the club—personally greeting members, guests, and VIP visitors.
Guest & Member Experience
Serve as a visible and engaging ambassador of the club—personally greeting members, guests, and VIP visitors.
Ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service by all golf operations personnel.
Supervise and train caddies and team members in luxury service etiquette and guest communication standards.
Gather and analyse guest feedback and ensure prompt resolution of complaints.
Assist in planning and organising tournaments, corporate outings, and special events in coordination with Events and F&B teams.
Support marketing initiatives through event hosting, photography, and social media content related to golf operations.
Develop and maintain a strong sense of member belonging through proactive interaction and personalised service delivery.
Revenue & Business Development
Collaborate with the GM and Marketing Team to optimize pricing strategies, membership packages, and promotional campaigns.
Drive ancillary revenue through the driving range and golf academy collaborations.
Monitor daily revenue and cost performance to achieve departmental KPIs and maintain profit and loss discipline.
Actively contribute to the preparation of the operational budget ensuring alignment with operational priorities.
Ensure all financial procedures and internal controls are applied accurately across all golf operations.
Leadership & People Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team within Golf Operations, fostering accountability and teamwork.
Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain staff and supervisors within the department.
Conduct ongoing service quality checks, coaching, and feedback sessions.
Implement structured training programmes for service standards, communication, and technical golf knowledge.
Develop and maintain a caddie performance evaluation and reward system aligned with company standards.
Encourage continuous learning and certification among staff to elevate professionalism and technical competence. Foster an environment of respect, inclusiveness, and integrity consistent with Pineapple Valley’s values.
Enforce all club policies, rules, and regulations as instructed by management.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Background & Experience
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive golf operations or club management experience in luxury resorts or international golf destinations.
Strong background in golf management with deep understanding of guest expectations in the premium golf market.
Highly experienced managing a high-performance team focused on service excellence.
Proven track record in tournament organization and golf operations efficiency.
Education & Training
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., PGA, Service Excellence, Event Management) would be advantageous.
Skills & Attributes
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of merchandising, membership management and golf event organisation.
The candidate must be a native Thai speaker, or fully fluent in Thai, and must also have an excellent command of English (spoken and written), as the role requires frequent communication with staff, members, and international guests.
Computer literate with experience in golf management software (Golf POS, Tee Sheet, Microsoft 365).
Service-minded, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
Professional appearance, ethical conduct, and good physical condition.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong time-management and multitasking abilities to ensure performance under pressure.
Other Duties
Represent Pineapple Valley Golf Club at professional exhibitions, tournaments, and community events when required.
Comply with all standards of performance, behavior, and operational policies and procedures in place at the golf club.
Participate in internal and external activities that are judged as appropriate to enhance the prestige of the company and the club.
Perform other relevant duties as directed by the General Manager.
