The Serapong Golf Course is a renowned championship course at Sentosa Golf Club, located on Sentosa Island, Singapore. Officially opened in 1982, the course was originally designed by American golf course architect Ronald Fream of Golfplan. It underwent a major renovation in 2007 led by Gene Bates Golf Design Group, followed by further improvements in 2020 to enhance the playing surfaces, bunker systems, and drainage. The Serapong features 18 holes, a par of 72, and a championship length of approximately 6,765 metres. Set along the southern coastline of Sentosa Island, the course offers spectacular views of Singapore Harbour, the Singapore Strait, and the city’s modern skyline. Its combination of coastal scenery, strategic design, and international tournament standards has established The Serapong as one of Singapore’s most highly regarded golf courses.
The Serapong is characterised by sculpted mounds, undulating fairways, contoured greens, and a network of 103 strategically positioned bunkers. Its layout makes excellent use of the coastal terrain, water features, and prevailing winds to create a variety of challenges that demand precision in both distance and direction. One of the course’s most distinctive features is the area known as “Dragon’s Tail,” comprising holes 4, 5, and 6. These holes wind around a tidal water feature, creating a striking landscape and demanding shot-making conditions. The coastal holes around the 14th and 15th also provide expansive views of the sea and Singapore Harbour. With fast greens, deep bunkers, and carefully positioned water hazards, every round at The Serapong tests a golfer’s technical ability, strategic thinking, and mental composure.
Beyond its impressive design and scenery, The Serapong has hosted numerous prestigious professional golf tournaments. It has been a venue for the Singapore Open since 2005, welcoming leading players from around the world and across major international tours. Since 2023, The Serapong has also hosted LIV Golf Singapore, further strengthening Sentosa Golf Club’s reputation on the global golfing stage. The club offers a range of premium facilities, including a clubhouse, restaurants, pro shop, driving range, putting greens, and short-game practice areas, alongside services for members and visiting golfers. With its challenging championship layout, distinctive coastal setting, and history of hosting major international tournaments, The Serapong delivers an exceptional golfing experience in one of Singapore’s premier golf destinations.
