The Bai Vong area, located east of Phu Quoc International Airport, has recently received approval for a new detailed zoning plan covering approximately 1,759 hectares. Notably, more than 81 hectares have been allocated for golf course development, as part of a broader plan for an eco urban area integrated with tourism and commercial services.

New Development Plan for Bai Vong, Phu Quoc

Under the 1/2,000 zoning plan, Bai Vong, part of Zone 4 of Phu Quoc Special Zone, covers approximately 1,759 hectares and is expected to accommodate around 35,000 residents. The area is located east of Phu Quoc International Airport and extends toward the coast. The development plan envisions Bai Vong as a new urban area featuring tourism services, commercial facilities, eco urban development, residential areas and green spaces. For the Phu Quoc golf market, the most notable element is the allocation of approximately 81.84 hectares for the Phu Quoc new golf course, representing around 4.65% of the total planned area. The golf course is planned as part of an eco urban development, alongside green parks and tourism service areas.

In addition to the golf course land, the plan allocates approximately 126 hectares for tourism services, 57 hectares for commercial services and around 60 hectares for urban green spaces. With its location close to the international airport and the coastline, the new golf course is planned within a broader development that connects golf, tourism, hospitality and urban services.

The development comes as the Phu Quoc golf market continues to expand. The island currently has Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc in the Bai Dai area, an 18 hole golf course surrounded by natural forest and located within the Phu Quoc United Center resort and entertainment complex. Another existing golf destination is Eschuri Vung Bau Golf, an 18 hole course located along Vung Bau Beach. The course features a coastal links style and forms part of the Sun Paradise Land Phu Quoc tourism and hospitality ecosystem.

Against this backdrop, the allocation of 81.84 hectares for a new golf course in Bai Vong adds further potential to Phu Quoc’s golf landscape, strengthening the connection between golf, tourism, hospitality and destination experiences.

Phu Quoc Golf Course Project Information Will Be Updated Soon

At this stage, the publicly available information remains at the zoning plan level. There has been no official announcement regarding the project’s developer, golf course designer, operating brand, number of holes or construction timeline.

As a result, the final design and development schedule for the golf course in Bai Vong have not yet been confirmed. Nevertheless, the allocation of more than 81 hectares for golf course development makes the Bai Vong plan a development to watch within Vietnam’s golf market.
