Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (West Course) is one of Malaysia’s leading championship golf courses, located in the Bukit Kiara area of Kuala Lumpur. The course features 18 holes, a par of 72, and a total length of approximately 6,405 metres. Originally opened in 1991, West Course has undergone several renovation and reconstruction projects, including a major redesign carried out by Parslow & Winter Golf Design. Its convenient location within the capital makes it a popular destination for both local golfers and international visitors seeking a premium golfing experience in Kuala Lumpur.
West Course is characterised by its naturally undulating terrain, strategically designed fairways, and a combination of water hazards, sand bunkers, and contoured greens. These features require golfers to approach each shot thoughtfully, from selecting the right line off the tee to controlling distance on approach shots. Water hazards come into play on several holes, adding to the challenge and making risk management an essential part of the round.
Notable holes include the par-4 2nd, where a lake runs along the left side of the fairway and bunkers guard the green, and the par-5 18th, stretching approximately 580 metres and providing a demanding finish to the round. West Course has also hosted several prestigious international tournaments, including the Maybank Malaysian Open, CIMB Classic, and Maybank Championship, further establishing its reputation in the regional golf scene. Beyond the course itself, the club offers premium facilities such as a clubhouse, practice areas, restaurants, and a range of golfer services, ensuring a complete golfing experience in Kuala Lumpur.
