Pondok Indah Golf Course is one of Indonesia’s most prestigious championship golf courses, located along Metro Pondok Indah in South Jakarta. Established in 1976, the course was designed by renowned American golf architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., with a layout intended to meet international tournament standards while remaining enjoyable for golfers of different skill levels. Pondok Indah features 18 holes, a par of 72, and a total length of approximately 7,243 yards from the back tees. Set within Jakarta’s bustling urban landscape, the course offers a spacious green retreat that provides a welcome escape from the city’s fast-paced atmosphere.
One of the course’s defining features is its blend of natural scenery and strategic challenges. Mature trees, water hazards, undulating terrain, and strategically positioned bunkers create varied fairways that require careful shot planning. The Grogol River winds through the property and serves as a notable natural hazard, particularly across the back nine. Among the standout holes, the par-5 9th stretches approximately 631 yards and presents a demanding challenge with water hazards and an uphill approach. Meanwhile, the par-3 12th, measuring around 175 yards, is memorable for its lower-lying green surrounded by water and bunkers.
With its championship-standard layout, Pondok Indah Golf Course has hosted several major international golf events, most notably the 1983 World Cup of Golf and tournaments on the Asian Tour, including the Mandiri Indonesia Open. These events have helped establish the course as an important venue within the regional and international golf community. Beyond the course, the club offers a range of facilities for golfers, including a clubhouse, restaurants, a pro shop, driving range, golf academy, changing rooms, sauna, and massage services. Its convenient location, strategic course design, and comprehensive facilities make Pondok Indah a prominent golfing destination in South Jakarta.
