The Tanjong Golf Course is one of two championship courses at Sentosa Golf Club, located on Singapore’s iconic Sentosa Island. Originally designed by British golf course architect Frank Pennink in the early 1970s, the course underwent a complete redesign by Andrew Johnston and Matt Swanson before reopening in 2016. The new layout draws inspiration from Australia’s famous Sandbelt courses, combining strategic play with a distinctive natural landscape and scenic views of the Singapore Strait and the city skyline.

The course is particularly notable for its large, naturalistic bunkers inspired by the work of legendary architect Alister MacKenzie. Undulating fairways, strategically positioned hazards, flowing streams and intricately contoured greens create a challenging yet engaging experience for golfers of different skill levels. Among its memorable holes, the 4th stands out with an elevated tee offering impressive views of the city and surrounding southern islands. The 5th is another highlight, featuring a long lake and a green that appears almost isolated within the water. Even the opening stretch of holes presents a demanding test, requiring thoughtful shot placement and precise approach play.

Beyond its distinctive design, The Tanjong has established a strong reputation on the international golf stage. The course has hosted the HSBC Women’s World Championship since 2017, welcoming some of the world’s leading female golfers. As part of Sentosa Golf Club, it also benefits from excellent facilities, including a clubhouse, dining venues, a pro shop and practice areas. With its championship pedigree, thoughtful design and striking island setting, The Tanjong offers a memorable golfing experience in Singapore.
