3. Upcoming Golf Course Projects in Thailand
Thai Country Club Expansion Project (Bangkok)
One of the most significant developments in Thai golf right now is Thai Country Club’s expansion plan, which includes a brand-new 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects (RTJ II).
Thai Country Club is one of Thailand’s most storied clubs, having hosted major international tournaments including the 1997 Asian Honda Classic (won by Tiger Woods), the Volvo Masters Asia, and the Thailand Open.
The new course follows a “lay of the land” design philosophy, working with the natural terrain rather than reshaping it, and encouraging ground-game golf with more rolling approach shots rather than purely aerial play. The layout will feature wide fairways, sparing use of artificial bunkering, and a continuous loop routing around the club’s grounds, giving golfers a seamless experience throughout the round.
Under the current timeline, the first phase is expected to open in 2027. Once fully completed, Thai Country Club will become one of the few clubs in the Bangkok area with two international-standard 18-hole courses, further cementing its position as one of Thailand’s premier golf destinations.

*Asia Golf Journey will continue to update this section as new golf course projects are officially announced by developers and operators across Thailand.
